Chloé is a French fashion brand with headquarters in Paris. The brand was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, a Parisian with Egyptian origin, and is now owned by the luxury brands holding company, Richmond Group.
At that time luxury fashion houses had only ever produced "Haute Couture" (i.e. made-to-measure) clothing for the few who could afford it. Everyone else was left with poorly made copies, supplied by local seamstresses. The visionary Gaby Aghion decided to create a line of high quality clothes from fine fabrics, which she called "luxury prêt-à-porter" and thus, the "Prêt-à-Porter / Ready-To-Wear" market was born.
See by Chloé is a younger line created in 2001 manufacturing ready-to-wear, handbags, and accessories. This line is targeting the younger generation and is more affordable.
