Diane von Fürstenberg, formerly Princess Diane of Fürstenberg is a Belgian-born American fashion designer best known for her iconic wrap dress. After her divorce in 1972, she has continued to use her ex-husband family name.
She created the “wrap dress” in 1974 in knitted jersey which is part of the collection of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Newsweek magazine wrote an article in 1976 declaring that she was "the most marketable woman since Coco Chanel."
In 2009, Michelle Obama wore the DVF signature Chain Link print wrap dress on The Official White House Christmas Card. Her clothes have been worn by many celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Beckinsale, Madonna, Jessica Alba, Susan Sarandon and Jennifer Lopez.
